The ‘Media Groen’ consortium wants to make Hilversum’s all-important broadcast and media industry more sustainable on an environmental, economic and social level. By doing so, they want the city, its industry, the Media Park and its surroundings to flourish. TNO has researchers who focus on smart,  sustainable planning and development of urban areas and its inhabitants.

Media Groen and TNO would like to know how to facilitate interaction between the media industry, its content and people to have them to take action to work and live in a more environmentally sustainable way. How to connactivate 50 pioneering people at the Media Park to 5000 people at the Media Park? How to connactivate those people to the 90.000 inhabitants of Hilversum or to the 100.000 people working in the creative industry and to the 17 million Dutch men, women and children. To have them live and work in more environmentally sustainable areas, based on new forms of collaboration?

This results in a concept that uses the power of the media industry to get people to take collective action towards sustainable living in their environment. In using this concept, broad societal developments are in turn fed back to the media industry (public and commercial, TV, radio, online and social), so the media industry can use the connactivated interaction to remain relevant to society.
